Materials Science and Engineering is the branch of modern science concerned with the study of the structures and functional characteristics of polymers. The Polymer Engineering programme at the Department of Polymer Engineering – Institute of Materials Science and Technics, Ferhat Abbas University, SETIF1, is a nationally recruited programme and the only one of its kind in the country.
The Polymer Engineering (GP) specialisation offers a multidisciplinary education in Polymer Science. Upon completion of this programme, graduates will have acquired fundamental knowledge, not only in the basic sciences (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), but also in technology—ranging from macromolecular synthesis to the structural and functional properties of polymers and plastic objects—which is necessary for understanding polymer engineering and its various applications. This programme enables graduates not only to continue their studies and prepare for a specialised Master’s degree, but also to integrate quickly into the socio-economic sector.
